Renowned Society of Animal Artists

Returns to Vermont with Landmark Exhibit at the MAC Center

The exhibition will open June 28 and run through October 26, 2025.

A public Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, July 12, from 5 to 7 p.m., and will include a dynamic Quick Draw event from 2 to 4 that afternoon. Participating artists will create original works live in just two hours. The artwork will be auctioned off and the proceeds will benefit the MAC Center and its community arts programming.

Founded in 1960, the Society of Animal Artists is a leading international organization dedicated to excellence in wildlife art. Its members include some of the most celebrated animal artists worldwide, known for their evocative portrayals of both wild and domestic animals. The group’s exhibitions highlight the intersection of fine art and conservation, often supporting environmental causes through both message and action.

This homecoming exhibit marks a special milestone: the Society’s first show at the venue since 2013, when the MAC Center operated as the Bennington Center for the Arts. The center hosted the SAA’s 34th Annual Exhibition in 1994, establishing a relationship that helped define its reputation for excellence in the arts.

“This is more than just an art exhibition—it’s a reunion of kindred spirits who believe in the power of art to inspire, educate, and protect the natural world,” said MAC Center Director Kristine Lewis.
