Art Studio Experience with Barbara Sarvis

Every 4 weeks on Thursdays from 1 pm to 4 pm beginning late February, 2026​

This art experience is ongoing throughout the year.  Each session is 4 weeks, followed by a two week break in between sessions.

 

Price: $140 for the 4-week art studio experience.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Students (all levels) have the freedom to paint and or draw with any medium:  Oil, acrylic, pastels, charcoal, pencils.  Art methods in portraits, landscapes, still life, and abstraction in several mediums will be demonstrated.  In addition, the language of art, composition, color, art history, aesthetics and critiques will be available.  Individual attention is emphasized.  This is an open studio concept which encourages the enjoyment and freedom of the creative process.

 

ABOUT BARBARA:

Barbara Hageman Sarvis  is an artist, writer, and educator.  She was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey and academically trained at The School of Visual Arts in New York City, Charles Cecil Studio, Florence, Italy, and Studio Incaminnati, Philadelphia, Pa. She continued graduate work in art and special education at the University of North Florida. She also worked as an apprentice to Audrey Flack in the 1970’s.

During the last ten years, she wrote, illustrated and published five children’s books in addition to having several paintings published in the following art and literary journals:  Women and Politics (Special Edition), Adanna Literary Journal, Two Hawks Literary Journal Quarterly, Twisted Vine Literary Arts Journal, Wild Roof Journal, Rock Salt Journal, The Poetry Box, The Scriblerus Publication, and Beyond Words.  Presently she works as a Museum Educator at MASSMoCA, in North Adams, Massachusetts and lives in Shaftsbury, Vermont.
